Build and use an Infobase

Infobase is designed for source material you want to use repeatedly. A focused collection helps AI retrieve more relevant context than a single large, mixed library.

Create a focused Infobase

  1. Open Infobase

    Open Infobase from the attachment controls in AI Chat.

  2. Create a collection

    Name it for one clear subject, team, client, or recurring use case.

  3. Add source files

    Upload supported, current material and use descriptive file names.

  4. Use it in AI work

    Select the relevant Infobase when starting a task that should use that knowledge.

Improve retrieval quality

  • Keep each collection focused instead of mixing unrelated departments or projects.
  • Remove duplicates and replace obsolete versions of documents.
  • Prefer source files with headings, clear structure, and selectable text.
  • Ask the AI to distinguish information found in the Infobase from general knowledge.

Maintain trusted knowledge

Assign an owner for important collections and review them on a regular schedule. When policies conflict, remove the obsolete source rather than relying on AI to guess which version is authoritative.
