WeChatBridge (微信流) is an independent, open-source project—not a Tencent product—that routes messages you select in WeChat to AI tools or a notes archive. Its Windows beta was covered by Pandaily on October 13, 2026, while the project’s launch post and a Chinese article are dated October 10.

The tool builds on WeChat’s own “select messages → merge forward → Forward to other apps” flow. It adds destinations for tools including Codex, Claude Code, WorkBuddy, Doubao and Qwen, and can save chat material as Markdown notes in Obsidian.

How the forwarding workflow works
Select messages in WeChat and use its merge-forward option, then choose Forward to other apps. WeChatBridge adds a row of destinations to that menu. Once you select one, it passes along the exported conversation archive and any accompanying instructions.

The project’s launch materials describe destinations including Codex, Claude Code, WorkBuddy, Doubao Work and Qwen Work, alongside Obsidian for archiving.
1 The documentation describes creating Markdown notes while retaining the original exported archive; the batch-collection documentation says images and videos remain in the original ZIP files.

Why the Windows release is notable—and what is still uncertain
The project’s developer said the original release was for Mac, that it had reached roughly 1,200 GitHub stars, and that users had been asking for Windows support. The same launch post describes the Windows interface and functionality as matching the Mac version. These are the developer’s statements, not an independent performance comparison.

The Windows port took longer than expected, with older-system compatibility identified as a challenge. The developer also said WeChat’s ability to forward chat records to other apps does not work smoothly on every Windows version.

21 The repository shows distinct platform implementations: a Swift-based macOS project and a .NET WPF Windows solution.

The available sources do not provide benchmark data or a reliable Windows-version-by-version performance comparison. A claim of matching interfaces should not be taken as evidence of matching speed or stability. Treat the Windows release as a beta and check the project’s compatibility guidance for your setup.

Collecting more than 100 messages
Batch collection helps when a conversation is too long to select in one go, but it does not raise WeChat’s per-selection limit. Instead, select and share several batches manually to WeChatBridge’s collection entry. Once collected, choose a destination and scenario to send them together.

A floating panel tracks received batches and provides first-and-last-message references for the previous batch. Unfinished collections can be resumed, failed sends retried, and the original ZIP archives retained.

This documented process is based on messages users select and share; the cited documentation does not describe automatically selecting an entire chat.

Scenarios, controls and privacy
The launch post says forwarding entries can be switched on or off, and the documentation describes choosing a scenario when sending a completed collection.

Because forwarding a chat to an AI service sends conversation data beyond WeChat, review what you selected and where it will go. As a general privacy precaution, only process records you are authorized to use and remove sensitive details when appropriate. This is practical guidance, not a verified quotation from the developers.
