To handle these workloads locally, Qualcomm is rapidly expanding its PC processor lineup. While the flagship Snapdragon X2 Elite and its high-performance X2 Elite Extreme variant were announced previously at CES 2026, Amon's Computex appearance reinforced their importance. Built on a third-generation Oryon CPU, these chips boast a dedicated NPU (Neural Processing Unit) delivering up to 80 TOPS (Trillions of Operations Per Second) of AI performance, and can exceed 100 TOPS when leveraging the CPU and GPU together [22, 49].
The more recent Snapdragon X2 Plus is designed to bring that Elite-class AI power to the mainstream market. Launched at CES 2026, it targets mid-range Windows laptops with 6-core and 10-core variants and the same 80 TOPS NPU, promising to power a new wave of Copilot+ PCs for everyday users [18, 19].
A newer, more targeted addition is the Snapdragon C chipset, unveiled just before Computex. Designed for entry-level AI laptops, the C series is aimed squarely at students, families, and small businesses, further democratizing access to on-device AI capabilities .
In a classic "one more thing" moment, Amon unveiled Qualcomm Dragonfly, a new product brand that marks the company's official entry into the AI data center market [4, 37]. This move extends Qualcomm's expertise in power-efficient computing from mobile devices to server infrastructure, specifically targeting AI inference. The Dragonfly brand completes a product portfolio that the company now says spans the entire compute continuum — from milliwatt-scale wearables to megawatt-scale data centers [4, 37].
However, the reveal was a teaser. Qualcomm did not disclose specific chips, performance metrics, or a customer pipeline during the keynote. All material product and financial details have been deferred to the company's upcoming Investor Day on June 24 in New York City [4, 5, 33]. The lack of immediate detail led to a "sell the news" reaction in the stock market the following day, as investors who had anticipated concrete specifications rotated out of the stock, especially with a competing announcement from Nvidia stealing some of the spotlight [33, 34].
Amon also highlighted agentic AI's transformative impact across other key sectors.
