The MBUX Virtual Assistant combines several AI services

The fourth-generation MBUX system adds a “Hey Mercedes” Virtual Assistant that uses ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing and Google Gemini. Mercedes says the assistant can handle more complex natural-language conversations, retain short-term conversational context and answer general questions. It can also use context to suggest music or podcasts.

The system is designed to make interaction less dependent on rigid, pre-set commands. Instead of speaking in a narrow command format, drivers can phrase requests more naturally and continue a conversation with relevant follow-up questions. These capabilities remain subject to the availability and behaviour of the connected services in the vehicle’s market.

Google Maps supports more conversational navigation

Navigation is based on Google Maps and is integrated with MBUX Surround Navigation. Mercedes also identifies Google Cloud’s Automotive AI Agent as part of the navigation experience, enabling personalised conversational answers about destinations, points of interest and available parking by drawing on multiple information sources.

In practical terms, the update is intended to let drivers ask broader questions about a journey or destination instead of simply entering a fixed address. For example, a request about places to visit or parking near a destination can be handled as part of a dialogue rather than as a single isolated command.

Electrified petrol engines and the C 400 e plug-in hybrid

Mercedes-Benz describes the revised petrol range as electrified mild-hybrid powertrains developed with efficiency, performance and forthcoming Euro 7 compliance in mind. The supplied evidence does not include a complete, verified model-by-model table of outputs, so individual mild-hybrid figures should not be assumed from the general announcement.
