Remastered Classic Campaign

The original ten missions have been rebuilt with sharper controls, modern animations, and better level flow . Sprint, aim, and combat mechanics feel more precise while retaining the classic Halo feel . The visual remake extends to the game’s iconic alien architecture and ringworld landscapes, all powered by Unreal Engine 5 .

42 Skulls – The Most Gameplay Modifiers in Any Halo

Campaign Evolved packs 42 collectible Skulls hidden across missions — more than any previous Halo campaign . Once found, Skulls unlock optional modifiers that dramatically change gameplay: randomizing weapons, altering enemy behavior, adjusting player attributes, and adding environmental effects . Players can activate multiple Skulls simultaneously, layering effects to create anything from a power fantasy to a brutally punishing run .

Campaign Remix – Randomized Encounters

A brand-new Campaign Remix mode injects variety into every mission by randomizing weapon drops, altering enemy behavior, and shuffling enemy encounters . When combined with activated Skulls, Remix turns the familiar campaign into a highly replayable sandbox that plays differently each run .

Nine Added Weapons

Weapons from across the Halo universe appear in Combat Evolved for the first time. Confirmed additions include the Energy Sword, Battle Rifle, and Needle Rifle, bringing the total crossover arsenal to nine weapons . Halo Studios has not published the full list of all nine weapons.

Vehicle Changes

Two major vehicle upgrades have been confirmed. The Warthog gains a rear bumper seat, allowing a fourth player to ride along . Players can also hijack enemy vehicles and commandeer the Wraith tank .

Co-op Details

Competitive multiplayer has been removed. In its place, Campaign Evolved offers two-player split-screen on Xbox Series X|S and PS5, plus online and networked co-op for up to four players on all platforms . The game supports seamless cross-platform play with shared progression, so console and PC players can team up .

Platforms, Game Pass, and Availability

Halo: Campaign Evolved launches July 28, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Microsoft Store, and Xbox Cloud Gaming . It is included with Game Pass at launch . Xbox Play Anywhere support means purchasing digitally on Xbox also grants access on PC, though this does not extend to the PlayStation 5 version .

Pricing and Editions

Three editions are available, though exact pricing has not been widely published on official store pages yet . All editions include the full Combat Evolved campaign and Operation: METEORITE . The Premium and Collector’s editions grant up to five days of early access, beginning July 23 at 8am PDT . Pre-ordering any edition unlocks the Foundry Armory Pack, which includes the Classic 2001 Mark V Armor skin, Classic 2001 Assault Rifle skin, and Gilded Onyx Armor and Assault Rifle styles .
