The beta currently integrates only two services:
Both are confirmed working in One UI 9 Beta 2 on the Galaxy S26 series . Samsung and multiple outlets note that additional apps may be added before the stable release, but for now the list is short
.
Missing from the beta are some of the most commonly used calling platforms:
None of these appear as supported apps in the current beta build . The limitation isn't necessarily Samsung's choice alone. The integration depends on each app's developer adopting the new Android 17 framework.
Google introduced the plumbing for this in Android 17. VoIP apps that use the self-managed ConnectionService API can opt in by passing the extra flag EXTRA_LOG_SELF_MANAGED_CALLS, which writes their call records straight into the system's CallLog.Calls content provider .
The phone dialer app then reads from that single provider, so everything — cellular calls and internet calls — lands in one place. Each record includes an app identifier, which is how the Samsung Phone app knows to label a call as coming from WhatsApp rather than Google Meet .
For the feature to expand beyond WhatsApp and Meet, the developers of Telegram, Signal, and other calling apps must implement the same opt-in behavior. Android's open-source documentation explicitly describes how third-party calling apps can log their calls into the system dialer and how the dialer must display the source app's name per the Android Compatibility Definition Document .
If you prefer to keep your WhatsApp and Google Meet history out of the main dialer, Samsung provides a straightforward toggle:
This gives users granular control — you can leave the feature on for one app and off for another.
The One UI 9 beta began rolling out on May 13, 2026, for the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra in six countries including the US and South Korea . The stable version is widely expected to arrive in July 2026, timed with Samsung's second Unpacked event — reportedly July 22 in London — where the company is likely to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8
. Those foldables will be the first devices to ship with One UI 9 out of the box, with a wider rollout to existing Galaxy flagships and mid-range devices following through the second half of the year
.
The unified call log feature is also not exclusive to Samsung. Devices running a compatible dialer on Android 17 should theoretically support it once their phone app implements the same CallLog integration . For now, though, Samsung's beta is the most visible example of Google's push to make your phone's call history finally show everything in one place.
