Ghost Recon 25th Anniversary: Everything Ubisoft Announced

On August 6, 2026, Ubisoft celebrated the 25th anniversary of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon with a showcase that included new content, technical upgrades, free promotions, and a major franchise announcement. Here is everything announced.

Last Rites Update for Ghost Recon Wildlands

The centerpiece of the anniversary is Ghost Recon Wildlands: Last Rites, a free update that launched on August 6 across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC . Developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux , it includes:

• New narrative mission: A standalone story set in a darker Bolivia, following a masked antagonist named La Llorona, a cult leader seeking revenge against the country's cartels, the CIA, and Unidad . The mission is accessible directly from the main menu and does not require completing the main campaign .
• Return of the Predator mission: The fan-favorite crossover event, "The Jungle Moved," is re-activated in the Caimanes Province . Note that the Predator mission is not playable while in the Last Rites mission .
• Ghost Parameters: A new gameplay customization system that allows players to adjust difficulty, HUD elements, loadout rules, and mechanics such as enabling instant death, limiting primary weapons, or controlling ammo behavior .
• Free cosmetic items: Anniversary-themed cosmetic unlocks are available .

Technical Upgrades

The update brings long-requested visual and performance enhancements:

• 4K resolution and 60 FPS support added for current-gen consoles (PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X/S) and PC . The patch also includes improved lighting, shadows, and distance rendering, plus DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support on PS5 .
• Graphical improvements: Sharper lighting, better shadows, and improved distance rendering are included .
