Everything Announced at the August 2026 VR Games Showcase

The August 2026 VR Games Showcase, hosted on August 13, featured over 25 new game reveals and updates across Meta Quest, PlayStation VR2, and SteamVR. The biggest news came from Flat2VR Studios, which announced official VR ports of two major flatscreen games and outlined plans to expand its publishing pipeline.

Flat2VR Studios' headliner announcements

System Shock VR — An official VR port of the acclaimed sci-fi shooter, developed by Flat2VR Studios in partnership with original developer Nightdive Studios. It is coming to Meta Quest, PlayStation VR2, and SteamVR; wishlisting is live now.

High On Life VR — The comedic first-person shooter gets an official VR conversion from Flat2VR Studios and Squanch Games. It was announced for PC VR, PlayStation VR2, and Meta Quest with a 2027 release window.

Flat2VR expansion plans — The studio revealed three strategic initiatives during the showcase :

• A new "vault" of games heading to PS VR2, which includes Drop Dead: The Cabin, launching on August 27.
• Out of Sight VR (a Little Nightmares-like horror title) coming to PS VR2 in Holiday 2026 and Meta Quest in 2027; it is already available on SteamVR.
• A funding initiative aimed at building bigger and better VR titles.

Other major game announcements

Total Chaos VR — A psychological survival horror built from the award-winning DOOM II total conversion mod. Revealed by Trigger Happy Interactive and publisher Apogee Entertainment, it is heading to SteamVR (free for owners of the flatscreen version) and Meta Quest. The release date is TBA.

Zero Caliber 2 Remastered — The cinematic VR shooter from XREAL Games arrives on PS VR2 in October 2026. It features a full campaign, co-op, and classic PvP.

PAYDAY: Aces High — Fast Travel Games debuted the first gameplay trailer for this officially licensed VR co-op heist game. A closed community playtest runs August 20–24 on Meta Quest and SteamVR.

Gunman Contracts – Stand Alone — An action-movie-inspired shooter playable in VR and non-VR, confirmed to launch in Early Access alongside Valve's Steam Frame headset. The exact date depends on the headset's release.

Bootstrap Island — A Robinson Crusoe-style VR roguelike survival adventure from Maru VR, shadow-dropped on PS VR2 on August 13.

Tiny Flock — A cozy physics-based VR puzzle game from No Brakes Games (makers of Human Fall Flat), coming to Steam and Meta Quest.

Spirit Ritual — An FMV mixed-reality horror photography game from Nyamyam, coming to Pico, PC VR, and Meta Quest.

DRIFTERS: Blackout Crew — A sci-fi co-op extraction shooter from Salmi Games, which shared a new deep-dive trailer. Coming soon to Meta Quest and SteamVR.

Knights of Fiona — A multiplayer JRPG launching in September 2026 for PC VR and Meta Quest.
