Pokémon GO PokéXciting 2026: The Complete Guide to the 30th Anniversary Five-City APAC Tour

Pokémon GO is celebrating the franchise's 30th anniversary with PokéXciting! , a free five-city tour across the Asia-Pacific region that runs from September 2026 through February 2027. Each stop offers a weekend of in-person and in-game festivities, with exclusive costumed Pikachu, Gigantamax Max Battles, and limited-time research for every Trainer. Tour Schedule and Locations

The tour kicks off in Malaysia and visits five cities, each hosting a two-day event on a Saturday and Sunday. All events are free to attend .

The event gameplay area for each city is centered around a major landmark or district, though final boundaries depend on the real-world event scale .

Featured Pokémon and In-Game Activities

Exclusive PokéXciting! Pikachu

A brand-new Pikachu debuts wearing a costume color inspired by each host city's local culture . This is the first time Trainers can encounter a region-exclusive costumed Pikachu in Pokémon GO . After each event weekend, the local variant remains available as a wild encounter in its respective city for one month .

GO Stamp Rally

Visit designated PokéStops near the event area to collect stamps. After collecting five stamps, you earn an encounter with PokéXciting! Pikachu that has a special Location Background . The Stamp Rally stays active in each city for one month after the local event begins .

Timed Research (Free)

Two free Timed Research lines will be available during each event. Rewards include encounters with PokéXciting! Pikachu, a Premium Battle Pass, event stickers, and more .

Field Research

Event-themed Field Research tasks will be available during event hours, offering additional rewards .

Wild Encounters with Party Hats and Ribbons

A large pool of Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild during event hours. The following Pokémon can be encountered, many wearing party hats or ribbons: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Raticate, Jigglypuff, Meowth, Psyduck, Slowpoke, Grimer, Eevee, Snorlax, Dratini, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Togetic, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Ralts, Beldum, Buneary, Gible, and PokéXciting! Pikachu . Lucky Trainers may also encounter Shiny versions of any of these Pokémon .

Lure Module Encounters

Activated Lure Modules will attract the following Pokémon, all with Shiny potential: Gengar (party hat), Gyarados, Ampharos, Tyranitar, Gardevoir, Altaria, Garchomp, Rowlet, Litten, Popplio, Grookey, Scorbunny, Sobble, and more .

Incense Encounters with City-Specific Unown

Incense will attract city-specific Unown letters plus a selection of starter Pokémon. The Unown variations are:

• Kuala Lumpur: Unown M and Unown Y
• Taipei: Unown T and Unown W
• Singapore: Unown S and Unown G
• Manila: Unown P and Unown H
• Bangkok: Unown T and Unown H

Incense also attracts Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie — all Shiny-eligible .

Gigantamax Battles

Gigantamax Venusaur, Gigantamax Charizard, and Gigantamax Blastoise will appear in Gigantamax Battles during the event. Each has a chance to be Shiny .

Bonuses

• GO Snapshot: 5 surprise encounters per day .
• Team GO Rocket: Bonus balloons appear once per hour .
