Huawei’s 2026 Malawi ICT Training Programme: Skills, Innovation and National Development

Huawei’s 2026 Malawi ICT Training Programme—also reported as the Huawei ICT Talent Development Programme—puts advanced digital skills at the centre of Malawi’s technology and economic-development plans. Huawei Technologies organised the initiative in collaboration with the Government of Malawi, and ICT Minister Dr Shadric Namalomba launched it in Lilongwe. 2

The programme is intended to reach 500 young Malawians, including university ICT students, with practical preparation for the digital economy. 6

The launch also highlighted student achievement. Outstanding university innovators in ICT received award certificates presented by Minister Namalomba and Chinese Ambassador Lu Xu. 1
