Samsung One UI 9: Which Galaxy Devices Get Android 17 and When?

First stable release: Galaxy S26 series

Samsung’s official global announcement says the stable One UI 9 release started September 16 with the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra. 4 The newer S26 FE and Fold8/Flip8 generation launched with the software already installed rather than waiting for an over-the-air update. 2

Thailand: the clearest country-specific roadmap

Samsung Thailand’s rollout is more specific than the global announcement:

Treat this as a local schedule. A September 28 date in Thailand does not establish the same release date for the US, Europe, India or every carrier variant. Samsung’s broader rollout is phased. 427

Galaxy S24 and regular Galaxy S23 models

The Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, S24 FE, Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra appear on reported One UI 9 device lists, alongside the S23 FE. 147 However, the available official Thailand notice only explicitly dates the S23 FE, not every S24 or regular S23 model. It is therefore more accurate to view the remaining S24 and S23 releases as pending regional rollout information rather than assign an exact date. 2327

Galaxy A55 and A35: beta activity is not a stable date

The Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 have appeared in One UI 9 beta or testing coverage. 182148 That is encouraging evidence that Samsung is preparing the software for those phones, but it is not a confirmed stable-release timetable. No supplied Samsung rollout notice gives a global or Thailand stable date for either the A55 or A35.

If you own one, check Settings > Software update > Download and install and Samsung Members for availability in your market. A beta listing or test build should not be mistaken for the public stable update.

Devices that are not expected to get One UI 9

The Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra, plus the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4, are widely listed as outside the One UI 9 / Android 17 major-version cycle. 51 This concerns the Android-version upgrade; it does not by itself determine whether a device will receive future security patches, which follow separate support schedules.

Warranty and Care places support and protection controls in the Settings app. Samsung says users can view warranty coverage for connected mobile devices, run self-diagnostics, see repair estimates, manage Samsung Care+, and book service appointments. 4

What to expect after installing it

One UI 9 is not a guarantee that every new feature will appear on every eligible Galaxy. Samsung notes that availability can vary by device and market, while AI features can depend on hardware, language, account and network conditions. 4 The practical expectation is simple: the Android 17 base update may arrive for a device before all of the headline AI capabilities are enabled for that exact model or region.

For the most reliable status, use Samsung’s local Newsroom and your phone’s Software update page rather than relying on a rollout date reported for another country.
