Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition ($69.99) launches October 1, 2026, bundling the base game, Ghost of Yōtei Legends, a new narrative expansion called Echoes of Sekigahara, and a roguelike survival mode called Most Wante...
Echoes of Sekigahara — a new narrative DLC expansion
Most Wanted — a new single-player roguelike combat survival mode
All content previously exclusive to the Digital Deluxe Edition
The Charm of Hokkyokusei bonus item
New tracks for Watanabe Mode, new photo mode stamps, additional cosmetics for New Game+, and new Trophies for both Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted
The Complete Edition will also be available on a physical disc . Players who pre-order by September 30 unlock the Sakai Armor early .
The Two New DLC Pieces in Detail
Echoes of Sekigahara is a full narrative expansion that continues protagonist Atsu's story in a new location. Sucker Punch has described it as a major story arc .
Most Wanted is a single-player combat survival mode the developer calls "our spin on a roguelike" . Players accept bounties, take down enemies, and earn combat perks in repeatable runs. The mode features different playable characters, including Atsu (dual katanas), Oyuki (kusarigama), and Nagato (yari) .
Pricing: New Buyers vs. Existing Owners
Price
New buyers (Complete Edition)
$69.99 (US) / ¥8,980 (Japan)
Existing owners upgrade
$14.99 (US) / ¥1,480 (Japan)
The $14.99 upgrade fee gives existing owners both Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted, plus the Digital Deluxe content, without repurchasing the base game . The Complete Edition costs the same $69.99 the standard edition did at launch .
Why the Upgrade Pricing Is Drawing Criticism
The $14.99 (or ¥1,480) fee for day-one owners has sparked significant backlash. Multiple outlets have called it a "slap in the face" for players who bought the game at launch, arguing that asking existing owners to pay extra just one year after release — for content some feel should be a free loyalty reward — is poor value . Critics also note the upgrade costs more than some expected, though it is less than the $20 standalone Ghost of Tsushima DLC charged in 2021 .
Free Patch v2.0: What All Players Get
Every Ghost of Yōtei owner, even those who do not buy the Complete Edition or upgrade, receives the free v2.0 patch on October 1. According to multiple sources , the patch includes:
Beauty of Yōtei mode — a screensaver-like ambient view that cycles through Ezo's environments, usable as a background display or for Photo Mode captures
Transmog for armor — the ability to keep one armor set's appearance while using another set's stats
Quality-of-life improvements (additional details from Sucker Punch are pending)
New photo mode stamps
Additional cosmetics for New Game+
New Trophies tied to Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted
A new high-contrast mode for accessibility
New tracks for Watanabe Mode
The patch also includes general bug fixes and performance improvements, though the full patch notes have not yet been released .
Release Date and Platform
The Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition and v2.0 patch launch on October 1, 2026 for PlayStation 5 in most regions. Players in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand receive the update on October 2, 2026. Neither a PC version nor a separate PC patch has been announced alongside this package .
