Galaxy SmartTag3 expands Samsung’s tracker beyond Galaxy phones: it works with iPhones and, Samsung confirmed to reporters, non-Galaxy Android phones that can install the required apps. But cross-platform compatibility does not mean every feature works everywhere—and the published Android version requirement does not clearly settle the minimum for non-Galaxy phones.

Which phones work with Galaxy SmartTag3?
Samsung’s product listing specifies Android 12 or later for Galaxy phones and tablets and iOS 17 or later for iPhones. For other Android phones, Samsung says the device needs access to Google Play so users can install SmartThings and Samsung Find. The available reporting does not establish Android 12 as Samsung’s minimum for non-Galaxy phones.

That broadens compatibility compared with earlier SmartTags, which were positioned around Samsung Galaxy devices. SmartTag3 is the first model in the line described as supporting Galaxy and iOS devices.

What can iPhone and Android users do?
Supported iPhone users can use Samsung’s service to check and share a tag’s location and use Search Nearby. This is Samsung app support; it does not make SmartTag3 an Apple Find My tracker. Reporting also says iPhones can locate a tag but do not contribute to Samsung’s Galaxy Find Network.

Some features remain Galaxy-only. Compass View, Ring Phone and Left Behind Alert are not available on iOS, and Compass View requires a compatible Galaxy device. Samsung lists Bluetooth 6.0 Channel Sounding for directional finding from up to 60 metres, with UWB for more precise nearby finding; access to those capabilities depends on compatible hardware.

Design, battery and accessories
Samsung says SmartTag3 is about 35% smaller by volume and 33% lighter than SmartTag2. The rounded tracker has an aluminium-decorated button, but drops the built-in key-ring opening. Samsung offers a Silicone Case with a keyring and a Loop Case as separate accessories.

Samsung claims up to 550 days of battery life under typical use, or up to 790 days in Power Saving Mode. These are company estimates, not a guarantee of real-world runtime.

Price and launch timing
Reported U.S. pricing is $29.99 for one SmartTag3 or $99.99 for a four-pack.

Reports place the South Korean launch on October 7, 2026. U.S. timing is less settled: some reports say November, while another says the U.S. launch follows South Korea and groups additional markets into 2027. Treat November as reported timing rather than a firmly established on-sale date.
