Palworld v1.0.3 Patch Notes: Endgame Grind Slashed, Jetragon Unlocks 9 Levels Earlier

Palworld v1.0.3, released on August 12, 2026, is the largest balance update since the game's 1.0 full launch on July 10 . The patch ships simultaneously on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Game Pass, and focuses on four area: reducing the endgame grind, rebalancing core resources, adjusting the tech tree to unlock key items sooner, and fixing a long list of bugs across all platforms .

Endgame Grind Reduction

The centerpiece of the patch is a complete overhaul of World Tree Holy Water, a material that players on Steam forums called the worst friction point in the 1.0 endgame . Holy Water is required to farm any resource within the World Tree zone and is needed to refine Paloxite ingots .

Before v1.0.3, Holy Water could only be obtained from field drops. After the patch, it can also be earned from:

• World Tree expeditions
• World Tree fishing
• The Large Fishing Pond in your base

In addition, the drop rate from Pals in the World Tree area and from Teafant Spring locations was buffed, the item's duration was increased, and its weight was reduced from 1 to 0.1 .

Crude Oil production was also improved: the construction costs of several oil-related machines were reduced, and the related base mission can now be completed using a High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor .

Resource Rebalancing

Paloxite ingot refining — which requires Holy Water — effectively becomes less grindy as a direct result of the Holy Water changes above .

Alpha Pal selling prices were roughly doubled compared to standard species, making it more rewarding to capture and trade the stronger variants .

Fiber from trees had its base yield doubled, which is a wide-reaching buff because fiber feeds into 140 item recipes and 57 base structures .

Tech Tree Adjustments

The patch moves several key technologies to much earlier unlock levels:

• Jetragon-related technologies were moved from level 79 down to level 70, and the materials required for the Jetragon Pal Gear were reduced — letting players unlock the game's fastest mount a full nine levels earlier .
• Aquatic Construction Kit was dropped from level 66 down to level 23, and its Ancient Technology Point cost went from 4 to 1 — making water-base building accessible much earlier in the game .

Bug Fixes Across Platforms

• Pals freezing and stopping their attacks — a widely reported combat bug — was fixed .
• PS5-specific crash when accessing the Global Palbox was resolved .
• PC freeze on game close was mitigated .
• Grappling gun behavior was changed to make it less likely to get stuck .
• Numerous other minor bug fixes across all platforms .

Other Notable Changes

The patch also added six new songs to the soundtrack and introduced a warning that displays if the GPU driver is too out-of-date .
