Leaks suggest Apple’s rumored smart-home hub could double as a digital photo display and come in as many as four finishes. The clues come from setup screens shared by a leaker and color names found in software code—not an Apple announcement or a confirmed product lineup.

What the leaked Photo Face setup suggests
Screens shared by leaker pdfu appear to show a “Photo Face” option during hub setup. Users could choose photo collections, Memories or shared albums to display, with the images drawn from iCloud; the reported feature requires iCloud Photos to be enabled.

That points to a screen that can serve as a photo display as well as a smart-home interface. But the screenshots show a setup flow, not the finished product, and Apple has not confirmed how the feature will work in a shipping device.
Four possible colors, but no confirmation
Pdfu named Silver, Space Gray, Starlight and Rose Pink as possible finishes. MacRumors also reported finding the same four names in software code, while noting that the setup artwork changes to match the color the device reports.

There is an important limit to what that evidence shows: the setup images do not reveal the hub’s actual casing or prove that all four finishes will be sold. An earlier report described a gray aluminum finish, so the newer clues suggest Apple may have considered more options—but they do not establish the final selection.

Reported design and Oct. 13 unveiling
The rumored hub is described as having a roughly six-inch square display in two configurations: a countertop model with the screen on an adjustable arm above a round speaker base, and a wall-mounted version.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has been cited in reports saying Apple is targeting Tuesday, Oct. 13, to unveil the hub alongside an updated HomePod mini and Apple TV. Apple has not confirmed the products or date, so the timing remains a report rather than an announced launch.

The HomePod mini is rumored to receive a faster chip, improved sound and new colors. Reports describe the Apple TV update as retaining the current design while gaining a faster chip. Final specifications for all three products remain unconfirmed.
