At the launch of SkillsFuture Festival on 16 September 2026, Singapore’s Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA) introduced a set of services spanning AI training, career guidance and employer support. Rather than treating courses as a standalone offering, the package gives individuals ways to assess their skills and seek guidance, while giving businesses a single place to find workforce resources.

AI courses and six months to practise
SWDA rolled out a curated catalogue of more than 200 AI courses through its SkillsFuture AI Subscription initiative. Eligible Singapore citizens aged 18 and above who enrol in and attend a curated course can receive a complimentary six-month subscription to selected premium AI tools. The access is intended to help learners practise using AI beyond the course itself.

The subscription has eligibility conditions; it is not a free premium account for every citizen. Course-fee funding also depends on the course and the learner’s eligibility, so prospective participants should check their estimated fees rather than assume every course is free.

A quiz to help choose where to start
The online AI Ready Quiz assesses readiness at three levels: AI Aware, AI Literate and AI Fluent. Developed with the Singapore Institute of Technology, it has 12 questions and takes about 15 minutes. Participants receive a personalised profile with learning-resource and course recommendations, making the quiz a starting point for selecting training—not a substitute for it.

One physical centre for career and skills help
Connect by SWDA, at the Lifelong Learning Institute, brings career guidance, skills development and workforce support together in one location. Individuals can seek help exploring career pathways or transitions; employers can seek workforce-development support. The practical change is a shared touchpoint for needs that might otherwise require navigating separate services.

One employer portal for workforce resources
For businesses, OurWorkforce consolidates access to employer-facing programmes and training resources. It also brings together information relevant to hiring, developing talent and workforce transformation, including job redesign support.

Taken together, the launches outline a pathway from identifying an AI skills gap to choosing training, practising with tools and getting career or workforce advice. That is the purpose of the package—not evidence, yet, that it has increased employment or improved business outcomes.
