The initial release is limited to core flight-booking operations. Atlas says it does not yet support refunds, cancellations, itinerary changes, credit-card payments, or other post-booking functions. Those capabilities may be considered for future releases.
That limitation matters for product planning. A team can use the Skill to help an agent find and book eligible flights, but it may still need separate workflows—or manual support—for changes and servicing after the booking is issued.
Atlas Flight Booking targets the infrastructure layer of agentic travel. It gives other developers an embeddable booking capability with explicit approval gates.
That differs from consumer-facing products such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT Atlas browser, where an agent mode operates in the user’s browsing context and can perform tasks such as booking travel.
The distinction is architectural rather than simply a difference in branding: Atlas is providing a specialized, open developer component for low-cost-carrier transactions, while a consumer AI browser presents travel actions as part of a broader browsing experience. Atlas’s release therefore emphasizes controlled execution and integration flexibility over end-to-end browser autonomy.
