The split gives buyers a clearer choice. iO prioritizes low weight, conventional styling and information that can be checked at a glance. GT prioritizes image size, immersion and spatial viewing, even though its thicker design and higher weight make it less suited to all-day wear.
RayNeo positions iO as an everyday work assistant for professionals, executives and people who regularly work across multiple screens. Its retro Crown Panto-inspired frame is intended to look more like ordinary glasses than a headset. The frame uses AZ91D magnesium-aluminum alloy and aerospace-grade titanium temples, and weighs 33 grams.
A notable design choice is the absence of a camera. That sets iO apart from camera-equipped smart-glasses products such as Meta’s Ray-Ban partnership, while keeping the product focused on voice interaction, transcription and discreet visual prompts.
The iO display is built around RayNeo’s Firefly Nano Engine and a monochrome-green diffractive Blue Lake waveguide. RayNeo specifies 97% transparency, 1,300 nits of in-eye brightness and a 23.5-degree field of view. The display is intended for concise overlays—such as translated text, meeting information and teleprompter prompts—rather than a large movie screen.
RayNeo’s Ambient AI features are aimed at reducing the need to reach for a phone during work. The company says iO can record contextual information, turn meetings into action items, suggest calendar changes and accept some commands through a head-nod confirmation gesture.
The glasses use RayNeo AI and Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite, with the option to switch among Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude and DeepSeek, according to the launch coverage.
For language assistance, RayNeo is pairing the glasses with Timekettle BabelOS 3.0. The company claims live translation support for 55 languages and 109 accents, with latency of roughly one second. Those figures are manufacturer claims rather than independently verified test results.
The iO’s audio approach also differs from typical smart glasses. Rather than relying on speakers, it uses four microphones and a bone-conduction sensor to isolate the wearer’s voice and support transcription in noisy environments.
Its 240mAh battery is rated for up to two days of ordinary use, 18 hours of continuous recording or 6.2 hours of continuous translation. Actual endurance will depend on how heavily the display, microphones and AI features are used.
RayNeo’s public iO pricing was not consistently established in the available launch reports. Some coverage treated the price as still to be announced, while another report cited a starting figure of $479. Until RayNeo publishes a definitive regional price, the safest conclusion is that iO’s launch price remains unresolved.
The GT models serve a different purpose. Their larger, thicker frames are designed for focused viewing: gaming, films, work displays and entertainment while traveling. They are not positioned as ordinary-looking replacements for the iO or other everyday smart glasses.
Both models use RayNeo’s Vision 4000 display chip and Zone 360 chip for three-degrees-of-freedom screen tracking. The platform supports stabilized, pinned-in-space and follow viewing modes. Both also include Bang & Olufsen-co-tuned quad speakers, head-tracked spatial audio and a directional Whisper Mode.
The standard GT weighs 68 grams and uses a Birdbath optical engine. It has a 46-degree field of view and can create a virtual display as large as 231 inches, making it the more compact and affordable option for private-screen use.
The GT Max increases the weight to 78 grams but expands the field of view to 59 degrees. It uses RayNeo’s Peacock Optical Engine 3.0 Max and a 5.5-generation Tandem MicroOLED display. Users can select virtual-screen sizes equivalent to 227, 267 or 307 inches, and the model is offered in three interpupillary-distance sizes.
That wider field of view is the defining hardware difference between the two GT models. The GT Max is aimed at buyers who want the most expansive view for games and video, while the standard GT trades some immersion for lower weight and a lower price.
RayNeo says the GT system supports native Dolby Vision playback when paired with the separate Google TV-based RayNeo Pocket TV Pro. The company also describes real-time AI SDR-to-HDR conversion as part of the experience. Because the Pocket TV Pro is a separate device, buyers should treat Dolby Vision as an ecosystem feature rather than assuming every source device will provide it on its own.
The reported U.S. prices are $299 for RayNeo GT and $399 for RayNeo GT Max. Coverage of the GT models has been more consistent than coverage of iO’s price, although regional pricing and accessory costs may differ.

RayNeo is presenting the launch as a deliberate alternative to the one-device approach. RayNeo’s strongest product decision is the separation of use cases.
