Qualcomm used the second day of Snapdragon Summit 2026 to make a case for personal AI that moves with a person rather than staying in one app or device. Its proposed agents would draw context from connected glasses, hearables, health wearables, phones and PCs, with work divided between devices and the cloud. The September 23 presentations showed how parts of that ecosystem might work, but not that it is already seamless in products people can buy.

Smart glasses and agents that share context
Glasses are one possible source of visual context for an agent. At the Summit, PrismML demonstrated its 1-bit Bonsai vision-language model running locally on smart glasses powered by Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1. Liquid AI’s Liquid Context was presented as a memory layer intended to help local agents share context across devices. Both illustrate the strategy; neither establishes that every future Snapdragon device will support the same experience.

Qualcomm also pointed to Snapdragon START, a toolkit meant to help brands develop personal AI devices, beginning with smart glasses. START was announced in June 2026, before the Summit, rather than launched on its second day.

Local AI, cloud AI and the privacy question
Qualcomm’s approach is hybrid: capable devices can handle some AI work locally, while connected services remain part of the design. Local processing can reduce the need to transmit sensitive camera or personal data, but it does not mean that an entire experience stays offline. Qualcomm explicitly describes cloud-connected intelligence alongside on-device AI in its new audio platform.

That distinction matters for proposed face-obscuring protections on camera-equipped glasses. A useful test is whether faces are obscured before an image leaves the device and whether each product maker enables the protection. The supplied evidence does not establish a universal, enforced face-obscuring safeguard across future products.

Health wearables and AI hearables
Qualcomm and the Global Health Connector announced the Personal AI Health Alliance, bringing technology and healthcare participants together around AI-driven wellness experiences. An alliance signals collaboration, not proof that a particular health feature is clinically effective or available to users.

For hearables, Qualcomm introduced Snapdragon Sound Elite Gen 2, a platform designed for earbuds, headphones, audio glasses and other wearable designs. It combines audio and voice features with on-device AI, connectivity and cloud-connected intelligence intended to support agent-powered experiences. Which capabilities appear in a finished product will depend on its maker.

Agentic PCs—and what still needs testing
Qualcomm positioned Snapdragon PCs, including a new Surface lineup, as another place for agents to retain context and carry out work locally. Googlebook plans also featured in Summit coverage. Separately, Qualcomm said Linux support is coming to the Snapdragon X2 series, with Debian support targeted by the end of 2026 and Ubuntu certification targeted for the first half of 2027. Those are plans, not evidence of mature compatibility today. Reports also name different Snapdragon chip families in connection with Googlebooks, so the Googlebook plans should not be treated as a blanket X2 device announcement.

The measure of this strategy will be shipping devices: whether agents can transfer useful context without unreliable hand-offs, excessive delay or battery drain, and whether users can understand and control what data leaves each device. The Summit made Qualcomm’s direction clearer; it did not settle those questions.
