Polaroid x Pokémon brings Poké Ball, Pikachu and Sylveon instant cameras

Polaroid and The Pokémon Company are marking Pokémon’s 30th anniversary with a nine-piece, limited-edition instant-photography collection. The range combines three redesigned Polaroid cameras with three Pokémon-themed film products and three accessories, turning the franchise’s familiar characters and symbols into physical photographs and keepsakes.

What is included in the nine-piece collection?

The collection is divided into three cameras, three film products and three accessories.

Cameras

• Polaroid Now Generation 3 — Pokémon Edition: a red-and-white camera inspired by a Poké Ball, priced at $139.99.
• Polaroid Go Generation 3 — Pokémon Pikachu Edition: a compact camera with a bright yellow Pikachu design, priced at $99.99.
• Polaroid Go Generation 3 — Pokémon Sylveon Edition: a pink-and-blue Sylveon-themed compact camera, also priced at $99.99.

All three cameras are based on existing Polaroid Now Generation 3 or Go Generation 3 models. The collaboration changes their exterior styling rather than introducing new camera functions. The special editions cost about $10 more than their standard equivalents.

Each camera also comes with a matching strap. A separate Pokémon camera strap is available as an accessory and is compatible with the collection’s Now and Go cameras.

Film

The film products extend the designs beyond the cameras themselves:

• Polaroid Color i-Type Film — Pokémon Edition: $22.99; designed for the Now camera.
• Polaroid Go Color Film — Pokémon Pikachu Edition Double Pack: $24.99.
• Polaroid Go Color Film — Pokémon Sylveon Edition Double Pack: $24.99.

The film uses Pokémon-themed frames. The i-Type and Go packs also include custom collectible dark slides—the protective cards ejected when a fresh film pack is inserted into an instant camera.

The Pikachu and Sylveon Go film packs are matched to their respective camera editions, while the i-Type film is intended for the Now model.

Accessories

The remaining three products are:

• Polaroid Go Camera Case — Pokémon Edition: $24.99.
• Polaroid Go Photo Album — Pokémon Edition: $24.99.
• Polaroid Camera Strap — Pokémon Edition: $14.99.

The case and album are designed around the smaller Go camera and its prints, while the strap offers a lower-cost way to join the collection without buying a camera.

How much does the complete collection cost?

Buying one of every U.S. product would cost $477.91 before tax:

• Cameras: $339.97
• Film: $72.97
• Case and album: $49.98
• Separate strap: $14.99

That total includes both Go film double packs, the i-Type pack and all three accessories. It does not include tax, shipping or any regional price differences.

When do pre-orders and sales begin?

For the United States, United Kingdom and Canada, pre-orders open on August 25, 2026, through Polaroid and Pokémon Center websites. The collection is scheduled for a global release on October 5, 2026, in limited quantities.

Japan has a slightly different schedule: pre-orders are listed for August 26 at noon, followed by release on October 6, 2026. Japanese listings also show local-yen pricing and distribution through Japanese retailers.

Polaroid has not specified how many units will be produced, so “limited quantities” indicates scarcity without providing a confirmed production number.

Why pair Pokémon with instant photography?

The collaboration connects instant photography with themes associated with Pokémon: discovery, connection and exploration. Exploring a place or event creates the moment; watching an image develop adds an element of discovery; and the finished print can be shared, collected or placed in the Pokémon-themed album.

That makes the collaboration more than a set of character graphics. The cameras retain the functions of their standard Polaroid counterparts, while the themed film, dark slides and physical accessories make the act of taking and keeping a photograph part of the anniversary experience.
