South Korean regulators have indicated they will investigate whether leveraged perpetual futures on domestic stocks violate the Financial Investment Services and Capital Markets Act .
An official at the Financial Services Commission (FSC) stated that if leveraged transactions are accessible to Korean investors, "there could be potential violations" .
Binance, which listed similar Korean equity perps on the same day (Naver, LG Electronics, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, HANMI Semiconductor, and KODEX 200 ETF at up to 20x leverage), faced the same scrutiny and subsequently blocked domestic Korean investors from accessing those products . Bybit has similarly restricted access for Korean residents to its TradFi perpetuals tied to Korean stocks.
