How the $299 price compares
At $299, the new model is more expensive than the previous generation. Engadget describes it as a $100 increase over the cheapest previous-generation option. 37 That comparison uses a recently adjusted price: earlier coverage reported that Apple had raised the entry price from $129 to $199.
1 The size of the increase therefore depends on whether you compare against the previous model’s most recent price or its earlier one.
The Apple TV 4K was part of a wider home-products announcement that also included the HomeView smart display, HomePod mini 2 and Apple Home Collection accessories developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. 3
