BDx Data Centers announced construction of AI Campus 2 (CGK4), a planned 640MW AI data-centre campus in Jatiluhur, West Java, backed by 845MVA of grid capacity from Indonesia’s state utility PLN. The project was presented as a phased, multi-building development—but a later report of a temporary halt means its announced schedule should be treated as a target, not a confirmed delivery plan.

What BDx plans to build
The campus is planned to contain six buildings, commissioned sequentially, with development expected to take about three years. Construction began with Building 1.

That first building is designed to provide 120MW of IT capacity in phases. BDx’s first contracted phase was targeted to enter service in early 2027; that target refers to the contracted phase, not necessarily the entire 120MW building.

Power and cooling for high-density AI
PLN’s 845MVA grid-capacity backing is part of the project’s announced power provision. The campus plan also specifies direct-to-chip liquid cooling and support for AI racks drawing up to 500kW.

These are announced design specifications. They describe planned infrastructure, not proof that the campus is operating at those capacities.
How the financing fits into BDx’s expansion
CGK4 is part of BDx’s broader AI-focused expansion in Indonesia. The company secured a US$320 million loan facility in 2026; reporting says it will support development of its Indonesian data-centre portfolio, including power-capacity investments at CGK4 and another campus. The facility should not be described as CGK4’s total construction budget.

Project status and schedule caveats
The September 2026 coverage largely described September 22 as the groundbreaking or construction-start date. One report, however, says West Java and Purwakarta officials attended a groundbreaking ceremony on July 28, before BDx detailed the project on September 22. The reporting therefore differs on the date of the ceremony versus the announcement of the project details.

More importantly, a report published October 3 said the West Java provincial government and Purwakarta regency had temporarily halted the project. The sources available here do not establish whether the halt was later lifted, so the three-year development estimate and early-2027 first-phase target remain announced plans rather than confirmed milestones.
