Huawei has returned to Vietnam’s smartphone market after a five-year absence, choosing its flagship book-style foldable, the Mate X7, as the comeback device. The phone was announced locally on January 23, 2026, opened for sale on January 30, and carries a listed price of VND 54,990,000. 913

The return is notable, but the Mate X7 is not a straightforward alternative to every flagship foldable. Its displays, cameras and thin design put it in the ultra-premium class; its EMUI software and uncertain Vietnamese retail configuration are the more important questions for prospective buyers.

Why Huawei left Vietnam
