White vs. Black: the Vice City themes
The two versions are designed as a pair that reflects different sides of Vice City:
- White Limited Edition: a daytime look, evoking the coast and bright, pastel Vice City imagery.
- Black Limited Edition: a nighttime design centered on the city’s neon energy.
Both controllers use GTA VI branding and Vice City-inspired visual details, including a shimmering color-shifting finish and palm-tree texture on the grips.

Do the controllers add exclusive GTA 6 features?
No. These are standard DualSense wireless controllers with limited-edition styling, rather than peripherals with exclusive buttons or gameplay systems.
Sony says GTA VI on PS5 will use the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and controller speaker as part of the game’s presentation. Sony also highlights the PS5’s Tempest 3D Audio and SSD in its GTA VI promotion. Those platform features apply to the game experience; the special editions do not introduce a separate gameplay feature set.

Is there a GTA 6 PS5 or PS5 Pro bundle?
No GTA VI-themed PS5 or PS5 Pro bundle has been announced in Sony’s current GTA VI hardware marketing. The announced hardware consists of the two limited-edition DualSense controllers. Sony’s GTA VI campaign promotes playing on PS5 and PS5 Pro, but it does not identify a GTA-branded console bundle.

That distinction matters because PlayStation has released themed console bundles for other games, including Marvel’s Wolverine and Ghost of Yōtei. Their existence does not confirm an equivalent GTA VI package.

How the controllers fit Sony’s GTA 6 campaign
The controllers are a visible piece of Sony’s broader GTA VI promotion. PlayStation describes the game as one that will “play best on PS5” and emphasizes PS5 platform features, alongside PlayStation Store pre-orders and digital-order incentives.
9
That marketing relationship should not be read as console exclusivity. The controller announcement is PlayStation hardware marketing; it does not change the wider console release plans referenced in reporting on the game’s current-generation versions.

What to make of the 30 FPS reports
Separate reports from late August say Rockstar is currently targeting 30 FPS for GTA VI on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. Reporting based on comments attributed to Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson says a 60-FPS option was not confirmed and may still depend on technical decisions.
35
46
The important caveat is that Sony’s official GTA VI posts promote PS5 features but do not publish final performance-mode specifications. Until Rockstar issues final technical details, 30 FPS is best treated as the reported current target—not a reason to assume every launch setting or future update is fixed.

Should buyers expect high demand?
Sony explicitly calls both versions limited editions, and the Black version’s narrower distribution could make it harder to find in some markets.
2 Sony has also priced several recent licensed limited-edition DualSense releases at the same $84.99 level, including controllers for 007 First Light, Marathon, and Genshin Impact.

There is not enough evidence to predict a sell-out time. Still, buyers who want a particular color should be prepared at the stated regional pre-order time rather than waiting for launch day.
