The nearly year-long gap between the original announcement and the confirmed release date means buyers now have a concrete launch schedule rather than only a broad 2026 window.
Pre-order timing is not identical everywhere. In Southeast Asia, for example, local retailer pre-orders begin September 2, 2026, and regional pricing includes SGD 319, MYR 1,099, THB 8,499, PHP 14,709, and VND 6,999,000.
PULSE Elevate is a pair of wireless desktop speakers built around PlayStation’s gaming ecosystem. Unlike a conventional soundbar or a headset, the two-speaker design places audio on either side of a desk and can be removed from the desktop setup for use with portable devices. Sony describes them as its first wireless speakers developed for desktop gaming.
Each speaker combines a studio-inspired planar-magnetic driver with a built-in woofer. Sony says the design is intended to produce detailed, lifelike sound across the audible range.
PlayStation Link provides the speakers’ ultra-low-latency, lossless wireless audio connection for gaming. PULSE Elevate is designed to work with PS5, PC, Mac, PlayStation Portal, and compatible smartphones or other mobile devices.
Bluetooth expands the range of supported devices, including phones and TVs. The speakers can use PlayStation Link alongside a Bluetooth connection, making them more flexible than a setup limited to a single console connection.
On PS5, PULSE Elevate supports Sony’s Tempest 3D AudioTech. That makes the speakers part of the broader PS5 spatial-audio ecosystem rather than simply general-purpose Bluetooth speakers.
The pair also includes an integrated microphone for voice chat. Sony and coverage of the product describe the microphone as AI-enhanced and designed to reject unwanted noise.
The speakers include rechargeable batteries and charging docks. They can therefore remain docked in a desktop gaming setup or be disconnected for use elsewhere, including with a PlayStation Portal or smartphone.
One important limitation is that the speakers are designed as a wireless product rather than a conventional wired desktop pair. Hands-on reporting says they can operate from their docks or away from them, but some usage details may depend on the final configuration and market.
PULSE Elevate will be offered in Midnight Black and White. The black model is planned for global availability through PlayStation Direct where the store operates and through participating retailers.
The White model has more restricted distribution. Sony’s availability notes list PlayStation Direct markets including the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, while availability through other retailers can vary. White units are also described as available while supplies last.
PULSE Elevate targets players who want a dedicated PlayStation audio setup without wearing a headset continuously. For $219.99 in the U.S., the speakers combine planar-magnetic drivers, built-in woofers, PlayStation Link, Bluetooth, a voice-chat microphone, PS5 3D-audio support, rechargeable batteries, and charging docks.
The main points to check before ordering are regional timing and color availability: U.S. pre-orders open September 1, Southeast Asian pre-orders begin September 2, and the White version is less broadly distributed than Midnight Black.
