The trailer, which Geoff Keighley also shared, confirms the following characters appear on-screen:

• Sonic the Hedgehog — accompanied by a Green Hill Zone POI, collectible Rings, and a Spin Dash Mythic ability
• Tails

• Crash Bandicoot
• Spyro the Dragon
• Mega Man
• Joker from Persona 5
• Pac-Man
• Mortal Kombat fighters — reporting identifies them as Scorpion, Raiden, and Kitana

Characters formally shown in the trailer should be considered confirmed. Leaked key art — which also depicted Sora (Kingdom Hearts), Geralt (The Witcher), Lara Croft (Tomb Raider), and Jade (Mortal Kombat) — has not been officially announced by Epic and should be treated as unconfirmed until further notice.

Match Hacks

The season introduces Match Hacks: at the start of a match, a cartridge is installed that applies a specific effect to the entire lobby. Three cartridge types were shown in the trailer.
