As of October 11, 2026, Huawei’s HarmonyOS Interconnect app lets a limited number of Huawei phones share alerts with an Apple Watch and ring either device to help find it. It’s a practical cross-platform link, but not a full transfer of Apple Watch into the Huawei ecosystem or a replacement for the watch’s native iPhone pairing relationship.5

Supported phones and software
Huawei currently lists three eligible phone lines: Pura X View, Mate 90 series and Mate XT 2. The Apple Watch must run watchOS 10.0 or later, and the Huawei phone must run HarmonyOS 7.0.0.109 or later. Huawei says more phones will be added gradually, but had announced no specific expansion timetable as of October 11.15
Once connected, the watch can receive Huawei-phone call alerts, text messages and notification summaries. Users can also ring the phone from the watch or ring the watch from the phone to help locate either one.5

How to connect Apple Watch to a Huawei phone
Before pairing, turn on Bluetooth on both devices. Keep them connected to the internet, unlocked with their screens on, and close to each other.15
- On Apple Watch, open the App Store and download HarmonyOS Interconnect (鸿蒙星河互联).
- Open the app on the watch and wait for a QR code to appear.
- Use the Huawei phone, signed in to a Huawei account, to scan the code.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to finish. If asked, enter the pairing code shown on the watch.

Other features in the Interconnect app
The Apple Watch connection is only one part of HarmonyOS Interconnect. Its Apple-device app is also listed for iPhone, iPad and Mac; the App Store listing names Thunder Software Technology Co., Ltd. as the developer.
For compatible Huawei devices running HarmonyOS 6.0.0.112 or later, the app advertises lossless file transfers without using mobile data. When devices are signed in to the same Huawei ID, files can also be received without a confirmation prompt.
Version 2.0.0, released after Huawei’s October 1 Mate 90-series and all-scenario launch event, added a separate dual-device connection feature. Its listed capabilities include message relay, device finding and network sharing. The first supported Huawei phones were again the Pura X View, Mate 90 series and Mate XT 2. These are broader app features—not a list of additional Apple Watch functions.
Apple Watch and AirPods: two distinct connections
Huawei announced Apple Watch and AirPods integration at its September 7 HarmonyOS 7 and Mate XT 2 launch event. With a connected Apple Watch, users can receive message and call reminders; with AirPods connected to a Huawei phone, the phone can show the earbuds’ battery level in its leftmost home-screen panel.5
The significance is the limited bridge itself: Huawei’s app runs on Apple Watch to enable specific connections that Apple’s own software does not provide natively for Huawei phones. But the confirmed Watch features remain focused on alerts and finding devices. The available information does not establish that other watch functions have been opened up across platforms.15
