Every Steins;Gate Announcement from Spike Chunsoft's Anime Expo 2026 Panel

Western pricing has not been announced. No official Spike Chunsoft press release or store page lists a USD price for the Digital Deluxe Edition at this time . The standard physical and digital editions in the West are confirmed at $59.99, with a SteelBook edition at $69.99 .

Platforms & Western Release Dates

The release schedule is confirmed across two waves:

• August 20, 2026 — Xbox Series X|S and Steam (PC) in the West
• October 29, 2026 — Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5 in North America and Europe

The PS5, Switch 2, and Switch versions will have physical retail releases. The Xbox and Steam versions are digital-only in the West . The original Japanese release is August 20 across all platforms .

It's a Full Remake, Not a Remaster

Steins;Gate Re:Boot is a complete remake of the 2009 original, not a simple remaster . Confirmed features include:

• Redrawn character graphics by original character designer huke
• Fully re-recorded voice lines and new dynamic E-mote character animations
• A brand-new "Gamma Worldline" story route that was not part of the original 2009 release, described as a brutal alternate timeline with an additional ending
• Updated UI and visual presentation throughout

The Steam listing describes it as "featuring fully updated visuals, UI, and an all-new story" .

Steins;Gate Octet of Shifting Space — First English Localization

Spike Chunsoft also announced the first-ever English localization and console release of the retro-styled companion title Steins;Gate Octet of Shifting Space (previously known as "Variant Space Octet") .

• Originally released for Windows PC in Japan on October 28, 2011
• First time on consoles or on Steam — launching on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Steam
• Retro aesthetics: It recreates the look and feel of a 1980s 8-bit PC adventure game, with text-parser gameplay, classic screen-drawing visuals, and graphics modes inspired by vintage hardware (8-color RGB, green monochrome)
• Music by series composer Takeshi Abo
• Localization translators include Andrew Hodgson and H. Anthony Israel, veterans of the original Steins;Gate localization

Steins;Gate Anime Season 2 — Not Announced

A widely circulating claim that a second season of the Steins;Gate anime was announced during the panel, with a premiere date of October 1, is unsubstantiated. None of the official Spike Chunsoft press releases, the panel description, news articles from Gematsu or Kiri Kiri Basara, or any other credible source mention such a second season announcement . This appears to be a fan rumor or a confusion with an unrelated event. There is no evidence to support it.
