Sony FX5 Cinema Camera (Late July)

The FX5 is described as a new compact cinema camera positioned between the FX3 and FX6, borrowing design cues from Sony's high-end Venice and Burano lines . The internal code name for the project is reportedly "Murano" .

Confirmed or strongly rumored specifications:

• Global shutter sensor — a newly developed sensor that is reportedly improved over the one in the Sony A9 III, eliminating rolling shutter distortion entirely
• 5K open gate recording in a 3:2 aspect ratio — a major reversal for Sony, which had long resisted adding open gate to its smaller cinema bodies
• Venice-style controls — the body design is described as a "mini Venice" with cinema-oriented controls and a modular layout blending elements of the FX6 and Burano
• E-mount — compatible with Sony's full E-mount lens ecosystem

Expected price: Most speculation places it between $4,000 and $5,500, with many commentators expecting it to land closer to $5,000 .

Sony RX10 V Superzoom Bridge Camera (Early July)

This would be the first update to the RX10 series in nearly nine years — the RX10 IV was released in 2017 . The RX10 IV remains in such high demand that it still sells for around $3,295, well above its original launch price .

Known or expected details:

• Fixed-lens design confirmed by regulatory certification that classifies it as a "digital camera" rather than an "interchangeable lens digital camera"
• Likely retention of the 24–600mm (equiv.) f/2.4–4 Zeiss zoom lens — the iconic all-in-one superzoom that defined the RX10 IV
• AI-driven autofocus improvements — rumored upgrades to the subject detection and tracking system, though specific AF specs have not been detailed

Pricing: No official pricing has been announced .

Caveat: Pre-Announcement Rumors

Sony has not yet made any of these announcements official. All details come from industry rumor sources — particularly Sony Alpha Rumors (SAR) — that have been corroborated by multiple camera news outlets . While the information is considered reliable, it remains technically pre-announcement and subject to change.
