Meta’s Muse Is Coming to Smart Glasses

Meta’s plan for Muse on smart glasses is to make its personal AI agent available without reaching for a phone—or describing everything in front of you. At Connect 2026, the company said glasses access would arrive in the coming months, but did not announce a firm rollout date. 3

How Muse will work on glasses

Wearers will be able to call up Muse hands-free by saying their agent’s name. On camera-equipped glasses, Muse will also be able to use what the wearer is looking at as context for a request. Meta’s examples included asking about a product on a shelf, a flier on a wall or a long school-supplies list. Those are examples of the planned capability, not a sign that it is already available on glasses. 311

The camera distinction matters: Ray-Ban Meta Audio has no camera. It is an option for audio and voice interaction, but it cannot show Muse the scene in front of the wearer. 410

What else changed for Muse?

Meta said Muse had reached millions of users within weeks of its launch. At Connect, it announced a voice mode that can keep working while someone talks, an expressive Muse Realtime Avatar, an email address for the agent and computer-use capabilities in Muse for Mac. 611

Meta also expanded Muse’s shopping connections. Its announced additions include Walmart, Best Buy, Gap, Sephora and Wayfair, along with Shop Pay and PayPal payment options. A connection to a retailer does not mean Muse can shop everywhere: CNBC reported that Amazon has blocked Muse from purchasing through its app. 313

Glasses, VR and Charm: prices and timing

The camera-equipped Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 glasses start at $449 and went on sale around the announcement. Camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio starts at $349, with shipping scheduled for October 13. Meta also announced Meta VR Glasses for spring 2027, priced at about $1,299. Those hardware dates are separate from the still-unspecified date for Muse’s arrival on AI glasses. 45173

For access beyond glasses, Meta unveiled the pocket-sized Muse Charm, a dedicated device for the agent. It is targeting December for shipping but has not announced a price. 111

What about privacy?

A camera that gives Muse visual context also raises questions about people nearby who may not know what the glasses can see or record. The camera-free Audio model removes that particular input, while also ruling out Muse’s proposed look-at-this tasks. 14

Meta has described dedicated, isolated cloud-based virtual machines for Muse and private-processing protections for AI features. Those are the company’s stated safeguards; they do not, on their own, settle concerns about cameras in public or an agent’s access to connected personal accounts. 615
