VodafoneThree Launches Vodafone TV and SuperMobile 5G+

VodafoneThree introduced two connected services in the UK on 3 September 2026: Vodafone TV, its first UK television platform, and Vodafone SuperMobile, a premium mobile proposition built around the operator’s 5G+ network. Together, they expand VodafoneThree’s ability to sell home entertainment and mobile performance rather than connectivity alone. 17

Vodafone TV: a streaming, live-TV and apps hub

Vodafone TV brings streaming services including Netflix and HBO Max together with live and on-demand programming from broadcasters such as the BBC and ITV. The platform also includes gaming, music and other content apps. VodafoneThree says the service offers more than 300 games and thousands of apps. 17

The service is delivered through a plug-in hub rather than a satellite dish or aerial. It supports 4K, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, while a companion app is designed to carry profiles, recommendations, favourites and gameplay across devices. 7

Vodafone TV was scheduled to be available from October to new and existing Vodafone customers with Vodafone home broadband, 5G Broadband or a Vodafone mobile plan. 7

Why the TV launch matters

The new TV offer addresses a gap in VodafoneThree’s broadband proposition. Sky, Virgin Media and BT already compete through combinations of fixed connectivity, television and mobile services; Vodafone TV gives VodafoneThree a comparable entertainment layer for bundles. 1

Vodafone SuperMobile: priority 5G+ with a speed commitment

SuperMobile is a premium consumer mobile plan powered by Vodafone’s standalone 5G network, marketed as 5G+, and its FastTrack service. FastTrack uses network slicing: a dedicated portion of mobile-network capacity intended to maintain performance when demand is high. 7

VodafoneThree says SuperMobile can deliver speeds of up to four times those of its standard plans. More unusually, it guarantees a minimum 15 Mbps download speed when a customer is within 5G+ coverage; customers who cannot receive that minimum can leave without an early-exit fee, according to the launch reporting. 17

That makes the product a bet on predictable performance, not simply a higher theoretical speed. The company also includes enhanced security features in the proposition. 7

SuperMobile pricing and who can get it

SuperMobile is available to Vodafone pay-monthly customers on SIM-only and handset plans. VodafoneThree listed the following monthly premiums: 7

• £3 more than Vodafone full-speed Xtra plans
• £8 more than 100 Mbps SIM-only plans
• £4 more than 100 Mbps handset plans
• £12 as a rolling monthly add-on

The relevant caveat is coverage: the 15 Mbps commitment applies in 5G+ coverage, so customers should check local availability before treating the guarantee as an everywhere promise. 17

A business-only national network slice

Vodafone SuperMobile for Business is based on what Vodafone calls the UK’s first national, business-only 5G+ mobile network slice. The National Business Slice separates business traffic from consumer demand, with the aim of giving organisations more consistent capacity for staff, applications and critical workflows in busy locations.

The business offering is available to small businesses with up to nine employees and to larger enterprises through tailored packages and performance commitments, according to VodafoneThree’s launch materials. 7

How it compares with EE Fast Lane

The timing is significant. In August, EE launched Fast Lane, a commercial 5G+ network-slicing service for eligible consumer and small-business customers. EE says Fast Lane shifts users to a dedicated slice when congestion is anticipated, with access tied to compatible devices and qualifying premium plans.

VodafoneThree and EE are therefore both commercialising a form of priority mobile capacity. VodafoneThree’s distinguishing claim is its published 15 Mbps minimum-speed commitment for SuperMobile in 5G+ coverage; EE’s Fast Lane launch materials described prioritisation during congestion but did not set out an equivalent minimum-speed guarantee. 7

The wider post-merger strategy

The launches sit within VodafoneThree’s £11 billion network-investment programme following the merger of Vodafone UK and Three UK, which completed on 31 May 2025. The company has framed the investment as a plan to build a stronger UK 5G network and create new consumer and business services on top of it. 1013

For chief executive Max Taylor, SuperMobile is intended to demonstrate that the combined operator can compete on network quality and performance, rather than only on price. Vodafone TV complements that strategy by giving the company a fuller fixed-mobile-entertainment proposition. 17

The practical test will be whether customers value guaranteed and prioritised connectivity enough to pay for it—and whether the 5G+ footprint is broad enough for the guarantee to be meaningful where they use their phones most. What is clear is that network slicing has moved from a technical 5G concept into a new front in UK consumer and business mobile competition.
