IQM's stated goal is to deliver end-to-end quantum-classical solutions, not just hardware. By integrating Quantistry's simulation and ML platform with its superconducting quantum computers, IQM creates a full-stack offering that spans hardware, AI-driven classical simulation, and quantum acceleration BA. CEO Jan Goetz described the acquisition as building "a bridge between hardware, software, and real industrial applications," accelerating IQM's software development timeline in a capital-efficient way BA.
The acquisition targets industrial R&D across five verticals: automotive, aerospace, chemicals, materials science, and pharmaceuticals BAT. IQM plans to offer enterprise customers a continuum of classical simulation, AI optimization, and quantum acceleration, with a roadmap to scale from proof-of-concept to production quantum systems BA. The deal builds on Quantistry's existing work with industrial partners; in February 2025, Quantistry and Airbus announced a joint R&D project in biocatalysis Q.
Prior Memorandum of Understanding (MoU): IQM and Quantistry had already signed an MoU in July 2024 to explore hybrid classical-quantum solutions for chemical and material industry R&D challenges, integrating Quantistry's simulation platform with IQM's quantum systems IQQ. This existing relationship laid the groundwork for the full asset acquisition BT.
Concurrent Nasdaq listing: The Quantistry asset acquisition closed concurrently with IQM's business combination with Real Asset Acquisition Corp. (RAAQ), which was approved by RAAQ shareholders on June 25, 2026, with trading commencing July 2, 2026, under the ticker IQMX on the Nasdaq Global Select Market KAD. The SPAC merger valued IQM at a pre-money equity valuation of approximately $1.8 billion KAD. IQM received net proceeds of approximately €198.7 million (US$233.5 million) from the SPAC deal and a concurrent PIPE investment AIS. The listing made IQM the first European quantum computing company listed on a major U.S. exchange KV.
Retention of the technical team: IQM explicitly retained Quantistry's "core technical, quantum chemistry, and software engineering talent" as part of the acquisition to ensure seamless continuity and rapid platform integration BAT.
The acquisition marks a significant step in IQM's evolution from a pure hardware supplier to a full-stack quantum solutions provider. By integrating Quantistry's cloud-native simulation platform, which already has industrial validation through its Airbus partnership, IQM aims to accelerate the path from quantum proofs-of-concept to production-ready systems for industries where materials simulation is critical BAQ.
