Global Reach and the Selection Process

The 2026 awards reinforce Apple’s global developer ecosystem. The 12 winners and 36 finalists represent teams from countries including the Netherlands, Spain, India, the United Kingdom, Canada, the USA, Singapore, Belgium, Poland, and Denmark .

Apple selected the 36 finalists from the full App Store catalog, which spans apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Vision Pro . The final selection narrowed that competitive field to the single best app and game per category, with criteria based on technical achievement, design excellence, and exemplary use of Apple technologies . One category change of note: the "Spatial Computing" category, which appeared in the 2024 awards for the Apple Vision Pro launch, did not return in 2026 .

Where They'll Be Celebrated: WWDC26

The winners will be officially celebrated during WWDC26, Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference, held entirely online from June 8 through June 12, 2026 . The event kicks off with the flagship keynote on June 8 at 10:00 a.m. PDT, followed by the Platforms State of the Union at 1:00 p.m. PDT .

As always, the free conference will offer more than 100 technical sessions, online Group Labs, and forum discussions. Apple will also invite a limited number of developers to a special in-person event at Apple Park on opening day .
