The company's Cortex Code assistant was officially renamed Snowflake CoCo and elevated into a full autonomous development platform . The core philosophy behind the upgrade is simple: the agent should work wherever developers do. To achieve this, CoCo became available as a native desktop application for Windows and macOS, and added extensions for Visual Studio Code and Microsoft Excel . An integration with Anthropic's Claude Code allows developers to route Snowflake-specific requests directly to CoCo from their existing Claude workflows .

Beyond new surfaces, the product gained true agentic autonomy. The new Automations feature executes recurring development tasks on a schedule, while Cloud Agents are serverless, event-driven workers that react to data changes or business triggers—such as alerting a team when inventory drops below a threshold—without any local client needing to remain open .
