DeepSeek V4 apps: two confirmed options for Taiwan-style Traditional Chinese

The test: look for V4, not just DeepSeek

A platform should clearly identify one of the relevant V4 names — for example DeepSeek-V4 Preview, DeepSeek V4 Pro, DeepSeek V4 Flash or deepseek-v4-flash. If an app only says “DeepSeek” without a version, that is not enough evidence to assume V4 support.

The model name matters because DeepSeek V4 comes in more than one form. AP reported that the V4 Pro and Flash versions both have a 1 million-token context window, a major increase from the 128,000-token context window associated with V3. DeepSeek’s API documentation also explicitly names deepseek-v4-flash as the current routing target for some older model names.

1. DeepSeek official web, app and API: the most direct V4 route

DeepSeek’s official site says DeepSeek-V4 Preview is now available on web, app and API. AP also describes DeepSeek as offering a free-to-use web and mobile chatbot. If your goal is simply to try DeepSeek V4 with the fewest assumptions, this is the place to start.

API users should pay special attention to model naming. DeepSeek’s API docs say deepseek-chat and deepseek-reasoner currently route to deepseek-v4-flash, and that those two entries will be fully retired and inaccessible after July 24, 2026, 15:59 UTC. If your code still depends on those older names, it is worth checking your migration plan early.

For Taiwan-style Traditional Chinese, the evidence is more limited. DeepSeek’s official page includes a Chinese-language entry point, but the reviewed sources do not state a specific zh-TW or Taiwan-localized guarantee. In practice, treat Taiwan usage as something to request and verify, not as something the source record proves by default.

2. OpenRouter: better for APIs, switching and comparison

OpenRouter can also be listed as confirmed because it has a DeepSeek V4 Pro model page.

That makes it useful for developers, heavy users or anyone who wants to compare model access through one routing platform. But the same language caveat applies: the evidence confirms the DeepSeek V4 Pro listing, not a dedicated Traditional Chinese-for-Taiwan experience.

If you use OpenRouter, test the output before building a workflow around it. Ask for Taiwan-specific wording, then check whether the model follows through consistently across longer answers, rewrites and technical terms.

3. GlobalGPT and similar multi-model apps: possible, but not confirmed

Why popular AI apps are not automatically on this list

Some popular AI apps may support Traditional Chinese, but that is a separate question from whether they support DeepSeek V4.

For example, Perplexity’s App Store listing includes Traditional Chinese among its supported languages. That does not make it a DeepSeek V4 option, because the cited listing does not show DeepSeek V4 support.

In other words: language support and model support must be checked separately. An app can support Traditional Chinese without offering DeepSeek V4, and an app can offer DeepSeek without proving it has V4.

A prompt to test Taiwan-style Traditional Chinese

If Taiwan usage matters, do not only write “Use Traditional Chinese.” Be more specific. A useful first prompt or custom instruction is:

Please answer entirely in Traditional Chinese as used in Taiwan. Use Taiwan vocabulary and common Taiwan phrasing. Do not use Mainland China terms. For proper nouns, prefer the translation commonly used in Taiwan; if unsure, say so.
